there is no other agency when you fight solo and are overwhelmed, you have options to reset when in a group though, which is the problem. Haha, i hope you are not being serious rn. The solution is already thought out, the system just isn’t fully built out. It’s incredibly hard to be downed if you’re being cautious, outside of bugs. I think the solution for solo players is to be cautious. even if you have unlimited healing on your side, you are one target who will most likely succumb to excessively high BDL while theirs will be lower unless you manage to focus just one target and even then it would not be guaranteed. your scenario is also not common as all it takes is just one of the 3 people you are fighting to have a medgun then all your damage is nullified.Īctually thinking more about it, your logic doesn't hold as we have medical pens and guns, so by your same logic we should not have any healing, as it allows your foes in a 1vX situation to beat you by virtue of healing alone. this system works really well and actually allows for 1vX scenarios, especially in GW2 as it allow you to rally off a kill.

Have you ever PvPed in GW2? because it pretty much answers this question one - the res is a channel that takes like 8 seconds, two - any damage resets the progress, three - it's a window that expires after ~15 seconds, four - good pvpers use fallen foes as bait for their allies. When you think you’ve downed a player and only have his two friends to deal with and you’re all alone but you’re better than them and kill another one and you close in on the last guy and get shot in the back because somebody got themselves up. That would lead to horrible firefights between players. it would also allow solo players to hobble through missions and it would show CIG's hard work on the tier damage system and give consequences to blindly forging ahead when you are outgunned/outmanned. thus you will progressively keep getting more injured if you continue your mission and keep getting downed. this could also work with the tier damage system, as if you are allowed to slowly revive yourself, like in GW2, then the next time you go down, before having received medical attention, you go up a tier in injury until you are left at the current state we have now on the PTU, where you can do nothing but wait, after being downed a third time. The games that come to mind with downed states that give the players some limited agency are Borderlands and Guild Wars 2. i gave a possible solution here to try and alleviate this as well as making the downstate more functional and interactive, bringing it in-line with other games that also have a downed-state: The devs have to change the thresholds for when the tiered system would actually trigger.
